Understand the dMAT. Then learn to solve it faster.
A deep, practical guide to the Core Module, General Academic Module, question rules, 25-minute timers, two-minute Core transitions, module break and test-day conduct—built specifically for APS India candidates.
Your preparation map, from format to test day
The official PDFs contain detailed Core instructions that candidates will see only in shortened form during the examination. This hub turns those rules into fast working methods, while keeping the newer APS General Academic Module clearly separate from university-specific subject tests.
Timing note: three Core timers total 75 minutes. The whole appointment also includes transitions, instructions, the module break, the General Academic Module and administration. Follow the timings shown for your own test.

What should an APS India applicant study for dMAT?
Prepare the three shared Core subtests—Figure Sequences, Mathematical Equations and Latin Squares—and the General Academic Module. Do not treat degree-specific Data Science or Battery Science subject chapters as the APS syllabus.
What is the dMAT Core Module pattern?
The Core Module has three subtests. Each contains 20 tasks and allows 25 minutes, for 60 tasks and 75 minutes of active Core testing.
How long is the complete dMAT examination?
The official dMAT website currently describes the examination as approximately three and a half hours, with a break between the main modules.
Can I take notes in the dMAT?
No. Official preparatory materials state that notes are not allowed. Preparation should be completed without paper, calculators or other helping tools.
Is Career Wise the official dMAT provider?
No. Career Wise provides independent preparation and guidance. The official test is administered by g.a.s.t.; current instructions should be verified on d-mat.de and in the participant portal.
Based on the official model materials supplied by the user and current information from the official dMAT website. Career Wise is an independent preparation provider and is not affiliated with g.a.s.t., TestDaF-Institut or APS India.
