The Hasso Plattner Institute's Research Schools offer an outstanding environment for doctoral researchers in computer science and digital technologies. Data and information engineering encompasses collecting, integrating, cleaning, storing, managing, and analysing raw data to support data-intensive applications. Researchers in this field design robust, scalable architectures and pipelines to transform raw data into reliable, accessible formats, leveraging techniques like real-time streaming and batch processing. These efforts provide the foundation for advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI applications. The IDE Research School guides PhD researchers by offering a platform for collaboration, regular interactions, a research methods curriculum, and extracurricular activities. Members of the research school perform research and teaching in all data-driven fields.
