Mathematics for Business and Industry

Mathematics is the driving force behind many innovations. It permeates all areas of life, and it will continue to do so for the future. Our MSc Mathematics in Business and Industry programme is aimed at students who want to build on their BSc in mathematics or a related subject and want to deepen their mathematical knowledge with a focus on real-world applications. The programme is conducted in English and prepares students for a wide range of career opportunities in the global job market. It is completed over three semesters and is characterised by a high degree of practical relevance. The mathematical education also covers computer science aspects and many modules offer practical exercises through "hands on" projects in our modern laboratories. Our Master's programme includes advanced, partly more theoretical modules in various areas of mathematics as well as modules on a variety of modern applications, e.g. in AI. You will learn mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills with a focus on applications in the actuary and finance sector, industry and information technology. An internship at one of the many internationally renowned companies in the region can be an attractive additional option – especially for students who need to earn additional credit points (see Requirements/Registration).
