If your Bachelor of Science degree was conducted in English, you will not need to provide an English language certificate, but you will need to provide a confirmation from your university to the degree was completed in English. Otherwise, you need to demonstrate your English language skills on a B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Suitable tests are for instance: TOEFL® ITP (Paper-based test) with at least 567 points or TOEFL® iBT (Internet-based test) with at least 87 points or a comparable certificate that confirms a B2 level (e.g. IELTS). Some German universities offer this testing via their language centres free of charge. Additionally, some DAAD offices provide these tests.

Academic Admission
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 50 ECTS points in geoscientific lectures is required to start studies without additional requirements. The relevant Bachelor's degree must be certified with a grade of 2.5 or better. Applicants must hand in a personal statement explaining their reasons for choosing this programme along with a CV.

An APS certificate is required for applicants who have completed their qualifying education in India, China, or Vietnam.
