International Master's Programme in Geodesy and Geoinformation Science
Technische Universität Berlin
Program Overview
Geodesy is a broad engineering discipline that is strongly focused on mathematics and natural sciences. It includes collecting, modelling, and processing measurement data in a spatial context. Analysing, structuring, and visualising this geodata provides the foundation for interpreting and designing living spaces. The broad spectrum of current geodetic research includes microscopic applications in medicine, automobile navigation and environmental monitoring, planning space missions, and exploring and mapping foreign planets. In the English-language Master’s programme in Geodesy and Geoinformation Science, you will learn to develop and apply methods of engineering measurement, satellite geodesy, planet and Earth system research, computer vision, and 3D/4D modelling of the real world using geographic information systems. The programme focuses on the following: Theory of acquisition, analysis, fusion, compression, and visualisation of spatially referenced data of the newest and highest quality Geographical information systems (GIS), geodatabase systems, data modelling, collection of geodatabases Earth system and planetary research as well as high-precision navigation and positioning Geodetic sensor technology, data analysis, object motion, and deformation analysis Digital image processing, automatic image analysis, and remote sensing Geodetic reference systems, international reference frames Gravity field analysis, satellite orbit determination and calculation
