Program Overview
During the coursework in the first and second semester, students will have to complete core and elective modules. Each module has 45 contact hours and is accompanied by a practical. The modules and practicals will take place at facilities at NUS or TUM Asia and will be conducted by TUM professors or NUS professors. Pre-Essential Modules Business and Technical English Chemistry Laboratory course Core Modules Organometallic and Coordination Chemistry Chemical Reaction Engineering Polymer and Macromolecular Chemistry Inorganic and Material Chemistry Business and Technical English Chemistry Lab course Students will be able to choose from three specialisations: "Catalysis and Petrochemistry", "Building and Material Science" or Interdisciplinary Module Combination: Specialisation One: Catalysis and Petrochemistry Molecular and Heterogeneous Catalysis Petroleum and Petrochemical Processes Unit Operations Specialisation Two: Building and Material Science Building Chemistry and Construction Chemicals Material Chemistry and Engineering Specialisation Three: Interdisciplinary Module Combination Students are required to complete three modules from the following: one module from the Catalysis and Petrochemistry specialisation one module from the Building and Material Science specialisation one module, which can be chosen from: either of the two specialisations non-technical elective modules Non-Technical Elective Modules (choose four) Business Administration Production Planning in Industry Innovation and Technology Management Industrial Marketing Modern Developments in Industry International Intellectual Property Law Paradigm Shift to Industry 4.0 Cyber-Physical Systems Industrial Additive Manufacturing Quality Certification Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Digital Twin Project Management Principles Internship Master's thesis *Disclaimer: Specialisation and Elective modules available for selection are subject to availability. Academic Admission
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree (completed in at least three years) or its equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or in a closely related discipline with outstanding results. Applicants must pass a written test and/or interview with the Joint Admission Board of the Faculties of Chemistry of NUS and TUM. For applicants with a Chinese, Vietnamese or Indian university degree, an "Akademische Teststelle" (APS) certificate is required.
APS Certificate
An APS certificate is required for applicants who have completed their qualifying education in India, China, or Vietnam.
