Graduate School Science, Medicine and Technology (OLTECH)

In addition to doctoral research, the Graduate School Science, Medicine and Technology (OLTECH) offers doctoral training opportunities to provide our doctoral candidates with in-depth training in the fields of knowledge and methods of their related disciplines and its fields of application as well as personal and interdisciplinary skills. For OLTECH, we defined four main research areas as the following: Environment and Sustainability Neurosensory Science and Systems Medicine, Health and Life Sciences Chemical, Physical, Mathematical and Computational Sciences Before you become a member of OLTECH, it is a prerequisite to find a supervisor for your own doctoral project and to be admitted as a doctoral candidate by one of the corresponding schools. We also recommend arranging funding for the doctoral phase early on. This can be achieved either through an employment contract or a scholarship/stipend. The focus is on the acquisition of competences that qualify and prepare doctoral candidates for areas of work inside and outside academia, for example, in business, administration and society. In accordance with the recommendation of the EU Competence Framework for Researchers (2022), the OLTECH programme offers qualification opportunities in the following competence areas: A) Specialist knowledge and academic work B) Communication and cooperation C) Personal and interdisciplinary development OLTECH members, regardless of their specialisation, can structure their individual programme according to the standardised basic curriculum . The basic curriculum provides a balanced structure of modules covering all relevant areas of expertise.
