Our goal is to train engineers both in accordance with the technical and technological requirements and needs of the relevant industry and with economic and ecological competence. The programme therefore focuses on technological and scientific knowledge and teaches skills for resource-efficient optimisation of the overall system of environment, people, and production. You will learn about the integration of the entire value chain, from a wide variety of raw materials to the biotechnological production of high-quality products for the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors, and the sustainable use of the resulting by-product streams. Environmental requirements for keeping water, soil, and air clean, as well as the use of renewable energies in production processes, play a particularly important role. Knowledge, skills, and methods required for your professional activity are taught in an application-oriented manner. The degree programme is structured in a mixture of lectures, seminars, exercises, case studies, and internships. Study programme projects and practice phases aim to promote interdisciplinary thinking and social competence. You will be able to independently expand already acquired knowledge and transfer the knowledge into practice to develop solutions for complex and business-related problems.
