Bionics

Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences

Kleve, Germany

Program Overview

The MSc in Bionics (biomimetics) is an interdisciplinary programme that combines biology and engineering to develop innovative technological solutions inspired by nature. Students learn to analyse biological systems and transfer their underlying principles into engineering applications. The programme focuses on three major subfields of bionics: Bioinspired Robotics, Biomaterials Science, and Biomimetics. Students must choose one of the three specialisations at the time of application. The curriculum is structured in blocks, including a core block covering experimental and mathematical skills, management basics, and fundamental principles of bionics, followed by a specialisation block and a final research block consisting of an independent project and Master's thesis.
