The Bachelor’s programme in Automation and Robotics at Coburg University is a forward-looking degree that prepares you for the rapidly evolving fields of industrial automation, robotics, and intelligent systems. Over eight semesters, including a 20-week internship, you will master core electrical engineering fundamentals while specialising in areas like advanced control, sensor technology, machine vision and human-robot interaction. During this stage, your German proficiency will rise to C1, enabling you to participate actively in technical discussions, read industry literature, and collaborate effectively in German-speaking contexts. Many courses incorporate real-world projects or case studies, strengthening your ability to integrate hardware, software, and mechanical systems. A distinctive feature is the 20-week internship, typically at a Germany-based company. This hands-on placement allows you to apply academic knowledge to real production environments, forge industry connections, and refine your intercultural skills. You will document your experience in an internship report, honing your technical writing abilities. In the eighth semester, you will undertake an Engineering Project before completing your Bachelor's thesis. The thesis enables you to investigate specialised topics — from collaborative robotics to AI-driven process optimisation — under the guidance of experienced faculty. Upon successful completion, you will earn the Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree, opening doors to careers in automotive manufacturing, precision engineering, robotics, or industrial software development. You will also be well-prepared for further study at the Master’s level, allowing you to deepen your expertise.
